Hey everyone. GCVA Juniors Indoor Volleyball Club has areadh started and will continue this Sunday June 30 at the CLRC. We would love to see as many players as possible tryout as early as possible.
GCVA Juniors had 24 teams and over 300 players last season. 11 of those teams were 12U and younger (10 of those Little Spiker teams). We would love for you to be part of our club. We expect GREAT things for the 2019/2020 Indoor USA Volleyball Club Season.
Wonder what age you should tryout for? For USAV and AAU Club Volleyball it is the age you will be on Sept. 1, 2020 (Not this Sept. but next Sept, the year the season ends). So most 6th graders will be 12U, 7th graders 13U etc.
We will fill positions on as many of our teams as possible as early as possible. We have been filling up earlier each year where by this past August. we have had very few positions left open and those only on the younger age groups. Most teams fill up after the July tryouts and some of the younger teams during the August Int. School camps
You can attend all tryouts for the one time tryout fee.
Club Fees.2019-2020 Club Fees are now posted onine and did not change from last hear. We still have the lowest, by far, of any club out size. Please remember though if you accept a spot in the club, you are responsible for the total club fees. We have very little margin for error and even one person not paying all their fees will cause that team to be in the red.
Little Spikers: If you are going into 6th grade or younger you can still play Little Spikers again this coming season(s). If you are going into 7th grade you will have to play club (probably 13U). For those players with a season, two or three you are more than welcome to come tryout for one of the club teams. 5th/6th graders can tryout for either 11U/12U Local or 12U Regional.
Regional team is more competitive, play in more tournaments, two (2) two day tournaments. 11U/12U club does play in 6-7 tournaments including USAV Lone Star Regionals at the GRB at the end of the season. The price of club is more expensive than Little Spikers however the cost over Little Spiker vs Club is the same if you played in both sessions of little spikers/both nights (no you really can't play both nights of little spikers).
Please note that Club is twice as long as Little Spikers. Club teams practice twice a week for 1.5 or 2 hours each practice and play in a minimum of 6-7 tournaments for 11u/12u club teams. Club teams are more competitive than little spikers and all club teams have to play by the normal USAV rules which are the same for 11u... 18u. There is not step in for club, if someone can serve 25 times in a row then that is the way it go's.
Please note that there is no tryouts for little spikers. Both sessions are open for registration and the first session is starting to fill up. All sessions of Little Spiker has filled to compasity the last few years so if you are plaining on playing again this season please register early.
