GCVA Club Tryouts
Your Volleyball Club on the Other Coast
The GCVA was established in 1992. We are a competitive, reasonably priced volleyball club
right in the heart of CLC which have some of the highest ranked teams in the region in several age groups.
2025-2026 INDOOR CLUB TRYOUTS DATES AND TIMES
We have positions still open
- 11's - Tryouts will be in late Nov/Early Dec After Little Spiker practice.
- 12s – 4 open spots (Any)
- 13s - 1 open spot on 13-1 (just a good all around player) 13 Black Full
- 14s - FULL
- 15s - FULL
- 16s - FULL
- 17's - 1 open spots 171 (MH/OH)
- 18's - 6 open spots (ALL)
11U & 12U Local Club Teams
Tryouts will be held in November TBA.
11u/12u local starts practice in January 2026 after the first session of Little Spikers.
Little Spikers
There is no Tryout for LIttle Spikers you just need to register on our web site https://www.gcva.net/content/indoor/little-spikers
Tuesdays is 5th and 6th gradeThursdays is 4th grade and under (5th if they have never played before).
We normally have (8) u12 teams in Little Spikers Spikers 4 on Tuesday and 4 or Thursday
YOU CAN ALSO TRYOUT AT ANY OF OUR INDOOR SUMMER VOLLEYBALL CAMPS & SUNDAY DRILLS*
- Sunday Drill - you have to let the coach know you will be there.
- Note that even if you tryout at camp or drills you have to register/pay for tryouts.
- Everyone has to register/pay for tryouts in order to be moved to a team.

All offers are made the night of tryouts. You will be offered a spot on a spicific team I.E 151, 152 etc…
Practice Gym's for 2025-2026
We will be using CLCCA REC CENTER plus at least ONE CCISD GYM practice gym this season. Locations can change or we can add gyms depending in CCISD request. I expect we will have Westbrook and or Springs for 25/26 season however that can change. CCISD does not confirm the gym until the school coaches put in their

Projected Teams for 2025-2026
The number of teams depends on tryouts and gym time – We normally try to fill 10-12 club teams and 8 little spiker teams (2 little spiker sessions)
- Travel Teams: Teams that participate In State, and in State and or Out of State National Championship.
- Regional Teams: Teams that participate in Houston with a few In State tournaments.
- Local Teams: Teams that participate in Houston based tournaments only.
Tryout/Club Fees - Register Online
TRYOUT FEES
- $50
- We will not take any walk up registrations, you have to register online.
- This fee is separate from the overall payment for the club. This fee is NON-REFUNDABLE.
- You only have to pay the one tryout fee. You can tryout as many times as you want, tryout for mutaple age groups, higher team for the one tryout fee.
DEPOSITS
- PAID UPON ACCEPTANCE
- Deposits are non Refundable unless... A team does not make or the due to circumstances where we have to cancel the season before we start (such as something like COVID, some type of emerengcy)
2025-2026 PRICING
There is a $400 – $700 non-refundable deposit that is due upon the offer and acceptance of a position on a club team. This is considered your first installment towards your 2025-2026 team fees. The remaining balance can be paid monthly or in full. Monthly payments will begin in September and continue through April. Payments made in full during the tryout period will receive a $100 discount. Returning indoor club players receive a $200 discount

- We will collect the required deposit (See Fee Schedule) when you accept a position on a team. You do not have a spot unless you pay the deposit.
- At the end of Tryouts we will accept deposits by check or you can pay online.
- By accepting your spot on one of our teams, you are taking away that position for someone else. Please be aware that once you accept and pay the deposit you are required to pay all fees.
- USAV Membership FEE is not included in Deposit. USAV Memberships were $50 in 2024. Parents have to register their player online for USA Volleyball. We sill send out e-mail with a registration link once registration is open.
What to Bring
- Dress athletically for normal volleyball play.
- No Outside Food or Drinks - personal water bottles acceptable.
- Deposit (only collected if position is offered after tryouts. NON REFUNDABLE ONCE ACCEPTED)
- If you have hand sanatizer please bring you a personal bottle, there will be hand stations at the gym
- Player/Parent agreement and waver due once you accept position.
- There will be no walk up registrations, you must register online.
USA VOLLEYBALL JUNIOR PLAYER AGE DEFINITION
For use during the 2025-2026 Season
Once a player participates (including but not limited to practicing, training, attending workouts and/or competing) in a club or varsity program for any university, college, community college, or junior college, he/she is ineligible to take part in any regional and national programming, which includes but is not limited to national JNC qualifying and championship events.
PLEASE MAKE SURE TO REVIEW THE AGE GROUP YOUR ATHLETE SHOULD BE REGISTERED FOR BEFORE SIGNING UP!
How every old you will be on July 1, 2026 (next year) is the minimum age you can play. So if you are 15 on July 1 2026 then you must play 15u or older. You can always play up but never, for any reason below you age.
