CLUB TRY OUT’S

Tryouts begin this weekend at the clear lake rec. center we hope to see all of you at the tryouts.  Bring your teammates, friends, siblings anyone you know who plays volleyball.  We have a great year planed at GCVA and want you all to be part of the excitement.  If you can make it, come to a tryout for your age group. Bring all required paperwork with you!  You only need to attend one tryout to be considered for our club. However, you may come to as many tryouts as you want if you feel you would like us to take a 2nd or 3rd look. 

 

After your tryout you may receive an offer for a spot on the National, East Beach or West Beach teams.  We will send you the offer via  E-mail.  At that time you will have 48 Hours to think about the offer.  If you decide not to play then we will offer your spot to the next player on the list.

 

The E-mail notifications are getting about a 25% return rate.  So we have started calling people from last week’s try-out. We will try to notify everyone within 48 hours after this weekend’s try-out.  We will then post those names on our web site at www.gcva.net/Teams.htm 

 

·        Summer Tryouts:  All Offers will be sent out by 48 hours after tryouts. 

·        Fall Tryouts:  Offers will be sent by 48 hours after fall tryout date. 

·        Additional Tryouts:  Tryouts can be held at our summer camps.  Please see www.gcva.net/Camps.htm for more information.  We can also arrange for try-outs before or after our summer drills and or Thursday Instructional League.  Those try-outs are still $25. Please contact Vic Clifford at gcva@juno.com - If you can not make a tryout you can also arrange a personal tryout for ($50). We do not recommend private evaluations as it is hard to compare with the rest of the age group.  If you would like a PRIVATE EVALUATION please contact Keith Jackson at  keith@viaquestfinancial.com

 

If you don’t receive an offer this usually means that we would like to see you again at the next tryout for further evaluation (no charge for additional tryouts).  It could also mean that the numbers are not right (amount of players trying out) to make a particular team and we are waiting for more players. It could also mean that we will contact you at a later time if a spot has opened up. We will send out e-mails even if you do not make it. 

 

There will be a Post-Tryout Player/Parent Meeting.  Here we discuss specifics about commitment levels, training days, coaches, and other pertinent information.

 

The only way to secure your spot in the club is to hand in all paperwork and deposit. This guarantees you a spot in the club and guarantees us that you are serious and want the spot.  If you decide to accept our offer to play with GCVA Juniors then we will need all the paperwork, forms and deposit check.  If you decline our offer then we open up a spot for someone else.  As stated above you have 24 hours to accept our offer, You will then have 3 days to send in all your paperwork or we will open the sports to others who have tried out.

15 and Under Division:

• Players who were born on or after September 1, 1993

14 and Under Division:

13 and Under Division:

• Players who were born on or after September 1, 1995

12 and Under Division:

• Players who were born on or after September 1, 1996

A simple way to figure this, How old will you be on September 1, 2009?  This is your age group.
