· Head Competitive Beach Team Instructor Travis Clifford: travis@gcva.net –other coaches (Rachel Morales rachelamorales@comcast.net – Mel melissa@tribbleassociates.com) will be introduced at the meeting and brought in as needed. All have at least 15 years experience on the sand.
· All Players signing up for competitive Beach Teams need to be at mandatory player/parent meeting Thursday May 13, 2010 at 6:00 at the League City Sports Plex Sand Volleyball Courts
· If you were unable to come to the Thursday May 13 meeting you can still sign up till all spots are full. Please fill out the registration form/attach check and mail it in. You can also talk to one of the coaches at the listed practice day/times.
GCVA COACHES
·
We are
the largest and one of the most respected Outdoor volleyball Association on the
Gulf Coast/United States. This is our 19th
year of beach/sand volleyball.
·
Our
coaches have been playing beach volleyball for years, most growing up playing
the sport. Coaches include Travis Clifford, Mel Mungle-Wardlow, Rachel Morales
·
Practice
Up to 5 hours a week.
·
Coaches
will start with basic rules, basic strategies and proceed to more advanced
techniques as the players progress.
·
Coaches
give individual and group training throughout the Summer Season through drills,
demonstrations, game like situations and team play.
·
The
ultimate goal is to train the players who want to play College Sand Doubles at
the NCAA level. A secondary goal is to
give players skills that they can take back indoors like ball control, offense
&defensive strategies, fitness and endurance which come with sand
volleyball training.
Tournaments/Leagues
·
There
will be a tournament list where players can pick tournaments (fees not
included)
·
We will
also include a list of tournaments that coaches and team will travel to (player
pays fees)
·
We will
schedule some matches with other beach teams (included in Fees).
·
All
players signing up for the beach teams are encouraged to also sign up for at
least one night of league play. (League
Fees not Included)
·
Players
are also encouraged to sign up for one of our Sand Leagues/Beach Tournaments
where they can play with their beach partner.
