We just found
out that the League City Parks and Recreation Department booked the facility
and rented out the entire Sportsplex tomorrow this, Friday,
May 18 to another party.
Therefore, we will not be having our beach camp.
We did schedule
two additional make-up sessions for next Thursday and Friday, May 24 & 25
from 6:00-8:30 pm.
We hope you
enjoyed the camp so far and look forward to seeing you next week!

Most
of the “best” indoor volleyball players in the world, ever, started out
or later played beach volleyball.
The coaches
will cover all aspects of Beach volleyball
All our coaches have been playing Beach volleyball for
decades
(100’s of years
of experience in the sand)
The benefits from this cross
training are unmatched
The
clinics will be open to all players and they will be grouped according to their
skill level. GCVA coaches, will touch upon skills passing, setting, serving,
hitting and defense, footwork and strategies of the game in a very upbeat and
productive environment. The athletes will also receive and a clinic shirt.
Little Spikers Beach Camp
GCVA Camps will be based on having fun, developing motor skills, and experiencing an age-appropriate version of the game. No beach volleyball experience necessary. Little Spikers Beach Camps are open to all kids ages 7-11. Cost for this is $45 an athlete. Free GCVA t-shirt included.
Camp Dates:
Session 1: June 16 from 6-9pm (Registration Deadline June 8th)
Session 2: July 14 from 6-9pm (Registration Deadline July 7th)
Instructional Two-Day Mini Beach Camps and Open Play
Players 12-18 years old who are interested in learning or improving beach volleyball skills can do so at one of our GCVA Beach Camps! These camps are also a great way to prepare for the Galveston TX Junior Beach Open, USA Volleyball Junior National Qualifier on May 19, 2012!
Dates for Mini Beach Camps/Open Play:
Session I: May 10 & May 11 from 6-8:30pm; $40 per player ($30 for 2012 GCVA Beach Team Participants)
Session II: May 17 & May 18 from 6-8:30pm; $40 per player ($30 for 2012 GCVA Beach Team Participants)
Camps are for boys and girls. They are designed for beach volleyball athletes of all skill levels. Emphasis will be placed on individual and small group instruction including skill development, technique, beach strategy, combating the elements, fun, and competition. Each camper will receive a written evaluation.
*Space will be
limited.
Private lessons
are available as well.

Camp will begin at 6:00
p.m. on Thursday, 5/17 at the Chester L. Davis Sportsplex located at 1259 Hwy.
96 in League City.
Please do not arrive
earlier than 5:50pm. No pets, glass bottles allowed within the sand courts.
If you registered late,
please be sure to bring your registration form and payment with you.
Each player should bring:
1. Water to drink
2. A towel
3. Bug Spray
4. An outdoor volleyball if your
daughter has one
All players are asked to wear
shorts and a tank top or t-shirt. Swim suits can be worn but we ask that shirts
be worn over them. Kneepads are not needed.

Due to some past
safety and maintenance concerns, the City has adopted the following
"official" rules governing the use of the courts:
1.
NO PETS will be allowed inside the fenced volleyball area.
2.
NO UNSUPERVISED CHILDREN will be allowed inside the fenced volleyball
area.
3.
ALL NON-PLAYERS (spectators, supervised children), once inside the fence,
must stay on the bleacher side of the complex,
4.
NO parking, loading, unloading in Handicap Parking, without a safe distance away from the playing area.
5.
NO GLASS may be brought into the Sportsplex.
6.
proper ID. Violators will be ticketed, fined ($200), and subject to tow.
